Rods

Forged only. No exceptions. Every rod we sell is S135 forged — upset-forged tool joints, heat-treated through the joint and precision-threaded. We don't stock cast or welded-joint rod, and we won't. The joint is where a bore is won or lost: it's the first thing to wash out, gall or part when you're leaning on it through rock, cobble and abrasive ground. Forged costs more to make, and it pays that back in footage per string and in rods you don't leave in the hole.

We run this rod ourselves, on our own machines, in the same ground you work in. Everything below is grouped by the rig it fits — Ditch Witch, Vermeer and Universal — and every rod listed under a make is a confirmed fit for the machines named on its page.
